memory box

I’ve always believed in the value of printed photographs—the kind you can touch, hold, and revisit with your hands. It probably comes from my love for analog photography, which still shapes how I see and shoot. A printed photo has a different weight. It stops being just an image—it becomes an object, a presence, a tangible memory.

The Memory Box was born from this idea. It’s a box I deliver on the evening of the wedding, filled with a selection of about 30 prints from the day you’ve just lived. I choose each photo carefully, following a narrative thread—with an emotional and aesthetic eye. It’s a carefully curated selection, the ones that speak the clearest. They hold the emotion, the moments, the atmosphere of your wedding day.

Each print is mounted on a white board, like a small passe-partout, and placed in a wooden box that I prepare by hand. I start from a raw base and work on them myself: I stain the wood to bring warmth and have your names and wedding date engraved on the lid. No box is like another—because no story is the same.

When I open the box in front of the couple, it’s always a beautiful moment. Seeing the first fragments of your story—just hours later—already becoming memory, is genuinely moving.

Printing photographs, for me, also means slowing down. Taking time to really look. The Memory Box offers a first taste before the full digital gallery you’ll receive later. It acts as a bridge—a gentle way to begin reliving what just happened.

I imagine that years from now—ten, maybe twenty—someone will open that box again. And those images will still speak.
